Wayne’s World Part 1 & Part 2
Late last summer we were invited by a wonderful friend to an annual event hosted in the hills of central New Hampshire. The centerpiece of the venue was a classic red barn that has been converted into a creative explosion of art, artists and musicians.
The party was a weekend-long event where entire families attended and camped out overnight in various fields around the grounds of several farm houses and of course the big red barn. Children of all ages attended and there were games and fun to be had by all.

The party included a classic America picnic: hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill, may kinds of locally grown vegetables and the usual traditional American deserts. Never to be missed, a game of horseshoes was always underway, dotting the air with the sounds of clanking iron-against-iron followed by uhhhs and ahhhs.
The event was actually a thinly disguised birthday party for one of the property owners (also a friend) which was honored with an evening concert featuring a number of boston based musicians (all guests at the party) playing all kinds of rock & roll that went well into the night.

The focal point of the party, throughout the day and evening activities was the big red barn, which was divided into a number of studio spaces where artists lived and worked. The barn spaces are truly a living museums full of eclectic and strange creative interpretations of artistic expressions.
From the Toy Room absolutely chuck full of old toys, to wall mounted guitars turned into individual sculptures encrusted with paint, objects and undeterminable amount of collage materials, everywhere you turned you encountered something that was intentionally displayed, constructed or defaced to become art.

Needless to say I felt like a kid at a candy store, I was so exited about what I found in the big red barn, that at the beginning I had no idea where to start… As I gained my composure I started to shoot everything I saw, from minute details to abstractions of abstractions of abstractions… I could have been there for a week and I don’t think I would have come close to shooting everything I wanted to.
When we returned home, and I had a chance to see what I shot I quickly realized how little I really photographed, and how different my work was from other shoots. I also concluded that the work merited two different styles, so I published 2 series, one in color with some of my traditional abstractions and the other in B&W.

I cant wait to go back this year!
